Born in Mexico, Edmundo Barraza, moved to Los Angeles, Ca. In 1990 he obtained his contractor's license. The same year he became a USA Citizen. At the ceremony, he had to swear that he would fight against all foreign enemies (including Mexico) in favor of his new country. Something he wishes never to happen. He was six or seven when he saw his first movie. The exterior wall of a church at the top of a hill was the screen. A Spanish movie about a baby left outside a church by his mother. He never stopped watching movies after that. Some of his favorite music includes The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Pink Floyd, The Clash, Temptations, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, and Bob Dylan. Some of his favorite film directors include, Luis Buñuel, Federico Fellini, Akira Kurosawa, Ingmar Bergman, Stanley Kubrick, Sam Peckinpah, Alfonso Cuarón, Alejandro González Iñárritu, and Guillermo Del Toro. He's married to Consuelo Barraza. They have two children, Michelle Solano and Carlos Barraza. He began writing short stories in 2009. His love for cinema pushed him to turn his own stories into scripts and then to film. He made his first short film "The Corpse Is Alive" in 2015. This short has won thirteen nominations from around the world. His ultimate goal is to make a feature film based on one of his own stories.
